Case Studies - South Wales - Workshop Floor

Designer Resin Floors (a division of Specialist Industrial Coatings Ltd) were asked to lay a decorative, yet slip resistant floor to be used as a workshop in a residential property in South Wales. Our client opted for a sand coloured solvent free epoxy resin as a base coat with a light scattering of light grey PVA flakes. The floor had underfloor heating and the concrete that was used in the construction of the floor was very porous and extremely dusty. We applied 4 coats of primer to the floor, including a special deep penetrating primer that we have developed to seal dusty concrete surfaces, before the concrete was sufficiently sealed and ready for us to apply the main coating system. After laying the main epoxy resin flooring system, we then sealed the surface with a clear solvent-free epoxy resin sealer coat.
