After investing in your individual selected floor covering that reflects your personality, you will want to ensure to extend the life, a few simple steps will aid this -

We recommend that the first usage of the treated surface is only for light foot traffic and after 48 hours following completion of our works.

Resist putting your furniture into place until the surface has fully cured. Use non-scratching soft pads under the legs of furniture to protect the floor from scratching. Ensure you do not drag objects over the surface, this may mark and/or dent the surface. Avoid mechanical damage to the floor.

Within the first two weeks, only use a soft brush or light non-scratching vacuuming, DO NOT attempt to clean the floor with water or chemicals during this period.

You may notice a layer of grease formation, which is part of the drying process.

After two weeks, you will be able to wash the floor and remove grease, with the complimentary Cleaner provided using water (Follow the directions on bottle).

You use clean water, if the water bucket looks cloudy, change to clean water, this will stop smearing from dirty water.

You can also use a wet machine, ensuring not to use stiff, hard bristles, change water regularly to stop smearing from dirty water. Ensure cleaning is even and do not prolong in one area as this will damage the surface finish.

You are now able to use a vacuum to remove general household dust, hair and grit. Coffee and Wine stains can be removed by using our complimentary Cleaner provided.

If you are finding that your floor is hard to clean, it could be -

a) You may not be using the incorrect cleaning product.

b) You may not be changing the dirty water often enough, which will leave smears.

c) The greasy layer build up within the first two weeks of being laid has not been removed.

Resin Flooring - Choice of Finish

Epoxy resin makes an excellent choice as a flooring coating system. However it should be remembered that these are resin based flooring systems which were originally designed for use in industrial factories and warehouses therefore cannot expect plate glass finish and all resin floor materials will be prone to some degree of marking and scratching.

Epoxy resin surfaces if exposed to UV or natural light may fade or yellow.

Pigmented polyurethane sealer applied over an epoxy resin floor surface will give greatly improved general protection to an epoxy resin floor and to reduce the effect of UV or natural light.

Gloss finish is easy to clean because it has a closed film finish. Very difficult to achieve difficult to avoid roller marks showing.

Satin or silk finish is a good compromise as they both give a good closed surface film and there is less risk of roller marks showing.

Matt finish is a smooth finish, it has a good appearance but due to the slightly open texture may make it more difficult to clean in domestic situations.

It should be noted that in all cases roller marks are purely cosmetic and will not effect performance or working life of the treated surface.

With materials and technologies currently available all our polyurethane sealer coats are currently applied by roller.
